Running makes a person gets smart

JAKARTA. Running is a sport that is quite easily done by the community. It turned out that running not only make the body become healthy, but also makes a person grow smart.

Researchers from UCLA to monitor brain waves associated with the learning process of gamma rhythms. Studies on mice found that the wave will be stronger when the rat is running. These results have been published in PLoS ONE.

"When we learn, then it will release certain chemicals in the brain to form gamma rhythms. The same chemicals are also released when a person running," said Mayank Mehta, PhD, as professor of neuroscience at UCLA, as quoted from Menshealth.com, Saturday (2 / 7 / 2011).

Researchers hope the discovery of this can find a stronger relationship that running can boost brain power, although it still needs a little more time laboratory to prove it.

In previous research has shown that regular exercise can improve a person's cognitive skills and lower the risk associated with mental decline. And a 2007 study in the Neurobiology of Memory and Learning found that the participants will learn vocabulary, 20 percent faster after exercise.

Besides running a regular basis can improve memory in the brain and combating depression. This condition indicates that the run is not only beneficial for your health but also on the brain.

Hopefully one day help doctors and researchers can find ways that running or jogging can help Alzheimer's patients in improving cognitive function, or other diseases associated with decreased ability of the brain.

The experts said that the exercise ran for 50-30 minutes can increase the ability of the brain. If it does not have a lot of time, then try to take time on the sidelines of events or wake up earlier than usual.
